DIY Mary Poppins Costume

I want to share my Mary Poppins costume with all of you since it is the beginning of October and Halloween is just around the corner. And yes, I already have my costume ready. I love dressing up and putting on costumes more than anything in the world. I also don’t like having to spend too much to do so. Last year I dressed up as a Jurassic Park Ranger and spent almost nothing on it since I had all the necessary items at home. This year I wanted to do something similar but I couldn’t decide on what until Mary Poppins came on the other day. And I just found out there is a new one coming out!

You probably have all of these lying around in your closet or your mother’s closet. The only things I bought were an umbrella (because I lost mine) and a vintage scarf I found in a thrift store. All the other things were things and pieces I already had in my closet. You really don’t need much to dress up as Mary Poppins so you won’t need to spend much if any on putting this costume together! If my boyfriend was with me I’d definitely dress him up as a chimney cleaner. Below are some links of what I’m wearing or if you’re missing anything to complete your costume!

Very cute. I prefer DIY costumes to store bought. They are often nicer looking and so much more unique.

Absolutely LOVE this idea – and I love that you can do it with stuff you already have around the house. You are so creative!
